Lishan is Singaporean harpist currently living in Boston, Massachusetts. Her love for the harp has spurred countless projects & performances internationally, and she work towards showcasing this beautiful instrument in new, different and unexpected ways.
Her most recent projects include winning the VI Mexico International Harp Competition 2022, performing two sold-out shows as a soloist with Vista Philharmonic Orchestra in their 2022 opening concert and being the 2022 Borromeo String Quartet Guest Artist.
She has shared the stage with groups ranging from the Boston Symphony Orchestra to the Silk Road Ensemble to The Beach Boys, and her YouTube shenanigans of recreating video game sounds from "Among Us" on the Harp is currently at 2.19 million views.
Lishan began her harp journey at the age of 13, and have since trained at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Royal College of Music and the Boston Conservatory at Berklee with Dr June Han, Ina Zdorovetchi and Huang Yu-Hsin. Currently, she's pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts at the New England Conservatory with Boston Symphony Orchestra’s harpist Jessica Zhou.
Award-winning harpist Karen Koh obtained her M.Mus with world-renowned harpist Judy Loman, and has performed in Canada, the UK, Singapore, and Malaysia. She has also performed with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra, and other performing groups. Her B.Mus was completed with Gulnara Mashurova, Principal Harpist of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.
Karen picked up the harp as a second instrument at the late age of 15. However, her proficiency at the instrument increased rapidly and within 3 years of taking up the instrument, she received an invitation from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) to perform at a High Scorer’s Concert for doing well at the ABRSM graded exams and also appeared on the front page of the official magazine of the ABRSM, “Upbeat” .
Karen was born into a musical environment. Her parents met while playing in the school band, while she and her siblings started learning the piano by the age of 4. After starting to learn the piano at a young age, Karen is now a holder of a Yamaha Grade 5 diploma, an ABRSM (Diploma) holder, as well as a Grade 6 certificate in theory from the ABRSM. Karen also holds a B.Mus hon. (2nd Upper) from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, the music faculty of the National University of Singapore, as well as a M.Mus in Harp Performance from the University of Toronto.
Guzheng virtuoso of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra (HKCO), Fu Zifei joined the HKCO in 2022. She graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) in the field of Chinese Instrumental Studies, specializing in the guzheng, under the tutelage of Yin Qun, and minored in percussion under the instruction of Shen Guoqin. She began learning the guzheng at the age of seven under Hu Zishan, and later went on to pursue advanced studies with instructors Hu Tongtong and Song Tingting. She received further tutoring from many instructors including Zhou Wang, Ji Wei, Su Chang, Lin Ling, Wang Wei, Qi Yao, Deng Haiqiong, Jin Jian, Japanese koto performer Kotani Keiko, and performer of traditional Teochew music, Lin Zhong.
Fu received the gold medal at the Hua Yue Cup International Guzheng Competition in Taiwan, and was the champion of the guzheng division in the 2016 Singapore Chinese Music Competition. In 2018, she held a solo concert ‘Evening on Maple Bridge’ at the Dongguan Yulan Theater, which was featured on China Times Culture. In 2019 she was the sole recipient of the gold award at the NAFA-Rave Chinese Concerto Competition. In 2020, she was the sole recipient of the Singapore Nanyang Academy Of Fine Arts Merit Award for Chinese Music, and also premiered the guzheng concerto Thus, performed with the Singapore Chinese Orchestra at the Singapore Chinese Music Competition.
From 2016 to 2020, Fu frequently traveled to perform and engage in exchanges in Dongguan, Beijing, Xi’an, Shanghai, Shenyang, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, and the United States. Fu has composed two solo pieces for guzheng, and two chamber music pieces for Chinese and Western instruments, and has published articles online about the cultural differences when studying abroad, as well as the science of guzheng music performance.
Saenghaengfah or Jeegy, as she is affectionately known, is a Nanyang Academy Of Fine Arts (NAFA) Degree violin student. In the first 3 years during her NAFA Diploma, she studied under Mr. Foo Say Ming and now, she is studying under the tutelage of Mr. Chua Lik Wuk for her B.Mus (Violin Performance).
She started learning viola under Mr. Lionel Tan in 2022 as her second instrument. Saenghaengfah has been a second violin principal since she was in her 2nd year in NAFA. She also played in the string quartet, piano quartet, flute quartet, piano trio just to name a few.
Outside NAFA, Saenghaengfah is a member of The Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO), the Asian Cultural Symphony Orchestra (ACSO), Orchestra of the Music Makers(OMM), and the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra (MFO). She is currently one of the Vocalise String Quartet members. Saenghaengfah also freelances as a session recording violinist for various projects with producers locally, and internationally.
Thea Tan graduated from Temasek Polytechnic with a Diploma In Apparel Design & Merchandising.
A highly motivated and passionate sports ambassador, Thea is currently the Head Coach of her own Thea Swim School and also conducts freelance swimming lessons with private students. She is a certified SSGA Instructor with valid CPR and AED certifications.
Aside from swimming lessons, Thea also conducts in-line skating lessons, health & fitness classes and physical training coaching sessions.
Thea holds a Black Belt in Shitoryu Karate and is a qualified close-combat instructor. She regularly conducts training for Ministry Of Defence recruits at Singapore Armed Forces Basic Military Training School in Pulau Tekong.
Thea Tan also freelances as a fashion model, collaborating with local photography and film enthusiasts on various projects and production.
